The Style OF Me:Part 2

"The Style Of Me" The Story Of How My Style Evolved & How I Use It To Control My Confidence  & Body Image Part 2 "Young, Beautiful & Insecure" by  Emily Doll TVD  Growing up in Southern California, I lived in my bikini every summer on Huntington Beach with my Uncle and two little cousins who were like my little sisters.  Buying a bikini every year was an exciting event until I grew out of my last one and had to rush to Target before we went to the beach to pick up a new one. It was hard shopping in the women's section when your hips were still telling people you were 10 when you were really 15. I cried in the dressing room. I had too small of a chest to fill out anything and I looked silly as the bottoms bagged around my tiny thighs, even in an XS. That was one of the last bikinis I bought before my parents moved me to Oklahoma right before my 16th birthday. It was hard leaving everything that was normal to me at such...

A Different Kind Of Valentines Day

Image
Valentines Day...Love it or Hate it... Or look at it like this.... It's that time of year again. The time where the shelves of every store are full of pink and red everything and a silly stuffed bear will cost you more than your phone payment. Some of us live for this day and others dread it, but what we all have in common is that no matter what our outward emotion is towards the day that is meant for love, is that we all secretly just want to have a good day and spend it with someone we love. I'm aware of the obvious idea of Valentines Day and the most common form of events that is suppose to happen... Girl gets excited. Boy gets stressed out over what to get girl. Girl shares ridiculous over done videos on facebook of others Valentines Day ideas in hope boy sees and takes hint. Then the day comes and boy brings girl teddy bear and flowers and asks "I don't know what do you want to do?" Girl gets mad instead of just sharing her ideas and plans. Bla...

Finding Love After Abuse

Fairy tales, wedding wishes, romance in hearts and flowers, it's what all little girls grow up wanting and picturing for themselves. It's like we have this pre-programmed idea in our brains about how relationships are suppose to be. The "chick flick" romantic comedies we tend to place ourselves in when we watch and say "That's the guy I want. The relationship I want"... I had those moments, I had those wants, but unfortunately I came to the realization after almost a decade with the "man of my dreams", several affairs, and years of control and neglect later that the magical life of a romantic relationship wasn't meant for me. I didn't question its existence, I knew love and romance existed it just clearly wasn't for me. I wasn't deserving of it I suppose. Maybe I held out for what I thought love was for too long. I didn't start seeing my now ex husband until I was 17 and there were none before him. I had this idea ...

To Love Yourself First: A Love Breakdown

Image
To Love Yourself... The most difficult yet most rewarding love there is   Love, we all crave it. That connection of energy from our counterpoint on this earth. That feeling of completeness. One could say it's the realist form of magic we face in life. Love is a natural need that we all desire and all spend our entire lives searching for.  I've had my issues with love. My first love was the abusive type. Something so many can relate to. It truly almost ruined my sense of what true love really is. Love can come in many ways and many forms. It can build us up and completely tear us down. It's can make us or it can break us. People deal with love differently. Some refuse to let it in and others will do anything for it. I think the most dangerous thing I have seen in love is how so many will completely sacrifice who they are to make another happy out of fear of being alone. So many of us search for validation in another. Relationship after relationship we start...
