Sometimes as a beauty blogger it can be hard to work with self owned beauty brands. Why? Because each brand is usually a one manned team that is the only one carrying all the weight, and at times that weight becomes too much for that brand to carry and it collapses. It takes so much commitment and constant work that not everyone is cut out for or able to handle once started. I know I couldn't cut it! So you sometimes are referring your followers and readers to an unsecured buying place and that can be stressful when  people trust you and the brands and products you bring them. What a lot of people don't see or understand is that each self owned beauty brand is a woman trying to conquer the world and that can be a really hard thing to do as a single mom or young woman in school. So many of the women who bring us beauty products through Facebook Groups and personal parties are all working towards not only making their lives better, but also their families as well as all the women they sell to.
Yes, I have been added and removed myself from many beauty selling groups. Totally!! But that's because I value those women's time, and if I am not a serious buyer I don't want to waste the time that they could be using for real clients. I have talked to so many of these women and got to know the heart behind the hustle, and I truly respect how hard the job they chose can be. I've also bought and used many of the products sold in these beauty groups, because like most brands, they have some really awesome products at times and I want them!! lol. I have seen more than enough attitude filled posts from women who don't find groups like these worth their time, and are always offended when added. I want to give you a different perspective if this is an emotion you've ever felt...
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1728232023900080/I met Anna Holland of Beautylicious by Anna online like many of my connections both business and friendship! I had no idea I would be lucky enough to say I have both with the bright and positive beauty brand owner from Oklahoma. She is the mother of two awesome boys and also works during the week as a Shipping and Invoicing Clerk. Yes, this woman has two jobs ya'll! Anna also works as her own beauty brand through a company called Nu Skin. Nu Skin is basically a company that allows people to be their own boss with the mission statement of...

"Our mission is to be a force for good throughout the world

by empowering people to improve lives with rewarding business opportunities,

innovative products, and an enriching, uplifting culture." - Taken from the Nu Skin website

I think it's amazing these companies exist because they open more realistic job settings for people who may not be in the place that a regular daily job through someone else fits their lifestyle. Like single moms and dads who want more time with their kids! Anna works under a company with that type of positive energy and want for their employees and I really love that.

erAnna contacted me via Facebook after I had made a post inviting brands and designers to collaborate with me. Anna sent me a link to her shop Beautylicious by Anna and invited me to her Facebook group. She explained to me her wants and ideas for her brand and invited me to test out one of their best products! The PowerLips Fluid matte liquid lipstick! Now let me just say, not just anyone can do the job Anna does. Running a beauty brand is constant around the clock work. Anna is her own marketing team and social media crew. She does her own product shots and handles all of her own orders! Not to mention personal consultations and lending you advice in all things skin and beauty! That is a ton of work on top of already having a full time job and two kids!

After some research on the brand behind the beauty and more chatting with Anna, I had a really positive feeling about giving her product a try. The first thing that really made me respect Anna was when I told her, "Now I want to be upfront and let you know all of my reviews are honest findings that can be both positive or negative are you ok with that?" I asked this because I have had issues in the past with some brands wanting pre-written and disingenuous reviews posted and I refuse to do so. Anna didn't hesitate when accepting and before I knew it I was receiving tracking info on the two PowerLips Fluids she was sending me. It's really important as a beauty blogger for me to express how much I appreciate when a brand like Anna's send me their products because that's money out of her pockets, her kids tummies, and they are trusting me to do my part to repay that back with what I do.

I chose two colors from Anna's lip line, a bold and deep sexy red by the name of Unbreakable. I always have to test out the reds from every brand. Then I chose the opposite and went with a nude shade by the name of Confidence. I wanted to have something for women on both sides of the lip shade spectrum and go with two classic colors everyone is always looking for.
The packaging was simple and sleek with a doe foot applicator wand. The first thing I look at in a liquid matte lipstick is the applicator. Without a good applicator, applying liquid matte can get super messy! Once its dried down that's it and overly applying coats to fix uneven application due to a bad brush can cause your lipstick to look or feel thick on your lips which could lead to an uncomfortable wear and a bad over all opinion on the product. I didn't have any preconceived ideas on how these lipsticks would be because liquid lipsticks are all so different! I just wanted to put it on and let it do the talking. And talking these lips did!!!

I first tried out Unbreakable. Naturally I couldn't help myself for going for the red, I have to know if its going to change my red lip game. I paired it with a colorful eye rimmed with heavy black smudged liner for a rocker grunge look, and once that was complete it was lipstick time. It glided on like a dream! It was smooth and very heavily pigmented so you get full color first swipe! I like this because as I stated above, needing to apply more than one coat of liquid matte lipstick can really change the comfort level. I was easily able to line my lips with the tip of the applicator which gave me a very even line and then I filled in. The thing I loved most about this red is that after I applied it I noticed it almost shaded itself. It was darker in the corners and just had this beautiful color shift to it. This has been probably my most asked about red lip color I've worn.. and I have tried a lot...This one grabs your eyes. Its just a different red that you have to add to your lip arsenal if you are a red lip lover!

Next to test out was the nude shade I had chosen by the name of Confidence! Nudes can be difficult because you have so many different undertones and they can be too light or too brown, blah blah blah. Confidence is literal liquid confidence in a tube! It was just light enough to be a cool toned nude without being chalky looking on, which I struggle with in lighter liquid lipstick shades. It wore just as amazing as the red and went on smooth and evenly. This color had a real refinement to it. It was classy and subtle but bold and demanded attention. I knew I wanted to go really dark on the eye to balance out the pale nude lip.

The last color I want to share with ya'll is one of my all time favorites! A dear friend who started out as a follower on my page but has become such an amazing source of support through the years, gifted me a new color from Anna's PowerLips line as a thank you for introducing her to the lip products herself! Barbie is a PowerLips supporter too!
The color Fearless is the most powerfully pigmented pink matte lipstick I have ever seen!! It almost glows. I've seen pinks like this but once on they don't usually translate with the same power and brightness, this one blew my socks off! Honestly I was even shocked when it showed up because the photos I had seen just didn't do the color justice. It comes off as more purple in the swatches online but it is the most dreamy shade of hot pink! You really have to see this one in real time to appreciate its pigment. In my opinion if you love lipstick, a bright Barbie pink is a must. It can be scary sure, just like red is a scary color to wear for the first time, but a bright pink or a red lip can really take your look to a whole different level and Fearless is the pink I would suggest going for. I know its my go to!!

I could go on and on about how much I love Anna's PowerLips Fluid because I was really surprised at just how amazing they were. I can't stress enough how these liquid lipsticks could easily run neck and neck with some all time favorites if people gave them a chance and tried them out. I put these three shades up against three of my favorite liquid lipsticks in similar colors and two out of three wore better and were ten times more comfortable. In the end, I preferred Anna's PowerLips over my Jeffree Star and my ColourPop liquid lipsticks in similar shades. Anna's lipsticks were brighter, more comfortable and less drying. They also have just as much staying power and when I removed them at the end of the day, my lips felt way more hydrated than usual and they were easier to remove over some liquid lipsticks that can now need special removers to take off. I don't want to have to have another product to remove my lipstick, I just want to makeup wipe everything off at once and call it done!
If you ask anyone who wears lipstick what matters to them most when buying a new lip color, they all say pretty much the same thing. They want it to be long lasting, comfortable, have good pigment, and be cruelty free. PowerLips Fluid has all of those qualities. They easily can stand up against any other matte liquid lip in my drawer and have earned their spot on top because they are some of my most go to lippies. It can be easy to pass by brands like Anna's because they don't have all the bells and whistles that a lot of brands have when promoting or marketing. What I like to remind people with brands like these is that you aren't dealing with a huge corporate business but a small business who cares and caters to their buyers each individual needs. They know their products well, they personally test and use them and they always aim to give each client the exact thing they are looking for in hopes to not just give them great beauty products but a great experience. I value that type of dedication and care. I value that type of work ethic when I am shopping and I know my readers do as well.

In closing I want to say that I really appreciate and value brands like Beautylicious by Anna. Women like her are showing so many young girls in the world that you can be a boss and a mom and totally take control of your future and have it all!  They are building empires and showing us all that being a business owner and living your dreams is possible along side the rest of your daily life. You really can do it all if you work hard, are honest and never stop pushing for your dreams!!

Anna Holland lives in Oklahoma and kicks butt everyday! I am so honored  to have been given the opportunity to work along side her in her dreams and passions. Thank you Anna for helping me live my dreams by allowing me to be a part of yours!!!
