Hello all of my beautiful readers and welcome to the first of what I hop will be a new blog series you will all enjoy. I create elaborate beauty looks that range from elegant and classic to bold and colorful. Sometimes I do them for fun and sometimes I create them around products I am show casing or brands I am working with. Either way, it allows me to express my love of beauty while allowing my creative mind to fly free. You all enjoy the final product of these looks and always have so many questions about how I put them together, so I thought "Why not blog these looks?" so that's what I decided to start doing!!! Each look will have three different features. Two videos tutorials, one for makeup and one for hair, as well as a final blog that explains my look and the process in more detail as well as sharing product info and application tips. Also I have tried my best to link back each product I talk about to the site you can find it on! Woman of The Golden Moon will be the first of hopefully many of these blogs and vlogs. Please feel free to reach out to me to let me know what you think and sharing these looks to inspire others! So without further a due.... Lets get into this blog breakdown!!
Doll-er Star Babe |
Yoshitaka Amino Art |
This look started out with one known factor going in and that was that it would be show casing the amazing biodegradable vegan friendly chunky star glitter "Doll-er Star Babe" that was about to launch in my new glitter line with Trigger Happy Cosmetics called Glitter Babes!! I decided I really wanted the glitter to be the glitter to be the focal point on this look and decided early on I was going to do a full glitter lip on a black base. I started researching inspirations for this look and found a beautiful art piece by Japanese artist Yoshitaka Amano that really grabbed me. Although my look doesn't really look anything like the painting, it definitely inspired the color palette and more refined cosmic feel.
EatSleepMakeupRepeat |
I started out with doing my brow as usual and applied my foundation, concealer and cream contour. After fully blending all of my face and setting it with powder being sure to apply a good amount under my eye area to protect from fallout, I started on my shadow. I started out with a very bright almost neon yellow shade I found in my Revolution Makeup Pro Looks Palette in EatSleepMakeupRepeat.
Karity 21 Matte Palette |
Bad Habit Athena Palette |
I began applying that all over my lid blending upward but it was a little too neon for what I wanted so I also added in a matte yellow shade from my Karity 21 matte shadow palette in the shade "Tweety" to even out my color. After I achieved the saturation in yellow I was after, I began to add definition with a darker shade. I chose to use the shade "Lore" in my Bad Habit Beauty Athena palette which is more on the burnt orange side into my crease blending outward carefully to not lose the bright yellow I had just applied.
Final shadow look before liner and lashes |
Trigger Happy Diamond Lashes |
Once I had my shadow look detailed and the color just right, I added finishing touches such as a wing with some liquid liner as well as lining my water line with Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide on eye Pencil in "Invasion" and blending into my lash line for a tighter more dramatic finish before applying some Trigger Happy Cosmetics vegan friendly synthetic Diamond lashes in their "Angelita" set which is very full and dramatic.
I removed my setting powder with a big fluffy brush and added some more powder contour just under my cheekbones once my eyes were done to pump up the definition of my face before adding some blush and highlight leaving the glitter application until the very end. I wanted a blinding highlight for this look so I used two different Highlighters, one liquid and one powder. I used Trigger Happy Cosmetics Glow drops in "Heavenly Glow" which is an ultra pigmented vegan friendly liquid highlight and topped that off with their Pressed Mineral Highlighter in Primadonna which added some warmth to it. I applied the liquid by blending and dotting with my fingers but a small tapered brush for the powder to give me more control and allowing me to really pack on the glow where I wanted. This ultimately ended with me having a mega watt highlight the stars would be proud of.
I started working on my hair which I knew I wanted to pull up into something big and bold. I did a large roll with my front bang area and put the rest into two small buns I teased for a fuller look and finished a coordinating color hair flower by Put A Flower On It. You can watch the video tutorial I made on this style to see how I achieved this, its actually pretty simple. All I used was my flat iron to curl the front portion, bobby pins, Suavecita Hair Spray and you will also need a good teasing comb which I have from Suavecita as well.
Disco Tatas |
After hair was one I started on the final step which was applying all the glitter!!! I wanted to go crazy and put it everywhere but I had to stay focused. I applied an eye shadow base from NYX that has a cream like texture to it for the glitter to stick to before applying my glitter. I used my biodegradable vegan body glitter in "Disco Tatas" from my Glitter Babes line which is a high sparkle multifaceted holographic glitter on the inner corner of my lid and about half way in avoiding the darker outer corner to not lose drama.
My lips were the most exciting part as well as the focal point of my look. I applied a black liquid matte lipstick by We.Makeup from their Ever lasting liquid lipstick collection in the shade"Parker Night" as my base and allowed it to fully dry down before adding my Glitter Babes glitter. Now this glitter like all of the glitters in my line is biodegradable, so that means it will start to breakdown in liquids or if it gets in your mouth. I decided to use one of the glosses from my Glitter Babes line in "Confident Babe" which is a beautiful iridescent white with a blue glitter shift and complimented the black perfectly as the adhesive for the stars. After dotting that on over my lipstick I carefully applied the stars with my finger.
All my glitters in action!! |
I hope you all enjoyed this Looks by The Doll blog breakdown. This look really was a lot of fun to create especially the glitter part! I loved the contrast in the bright eye and dark lip and have always been a fan of yellow and black as a color combo. I think doing a back lip really showed off the glitter stars well and took it from a more fun loud look to slightly more balanced and refined over what a brighter lip would have given off. Every time I do these types of looks I always enjoy so much the freedom I have with my makeup. I love stepping outside of the norm to create bolder more creative looks that allow me to show off my passion in beauty in such fun ways and hope to inspire others to pick up some glitter and get creating!
