Urban Decay's Holographic Highlighters
A Doll Talks Blog ReCap
by Emily Doll
Hello my pretties, and welcome back to another finale recap on Doll Talks with No Bull Beauty Reviews. This recap is going to talk about some finale thoughts on the two most recent highlighters I tested out from Urban Decay Cosmetics.
Disco Queen! |
I received a goodie box from my friends at Urban Decay with two pretty new babies inside to test out on No Bull Beauty. Right away I had excitement taking over when I pulled the retro disco themed packaging out of its protective box. Inside that box were two sparkly little babies just waiting to make me glow!
The packaging was a fun silver holo color that represented the products well. I checked out the Disco Queen Holographic Highlight Powder first part of this because I cant help myself around a good powder highlight. I would have said $29 dollars was a little on the high side, until I put this on my face. Also in a 0.31oz pan you are getting a good amount of product. Disco Queen is the powder part of this combo and at first looks I was worried would have me looking like I took a style tip from Barney! But have no fear, thankfully that was not the case. Although very purple looking in color this highlight is actually pretty sheer at first. Its a lavender powder base with a blue shift glitter in it. Giving you a very neon ethereal like glow applied. The second side of this perfect holo pair is the cream highlighting stick known as the Disco Stick.
This Disco Stick is a cream holographic highlighting stick, and sitting at $26 bucks. This really is a pretty stick highlighter but is a little on the dry side. It didn't go down as smooth as I wanted but does dry down to a soft finish that is comfy to wear. Its a very iridescent sheen that really glows bright with its multidimensional blue shift. I can see this working really well as a body highlighter this summer too!
So with both products in my hands I decided to double them up and get the most out of my Disco Queen team. I applied the Disco Stick first on my cheek bones, brow bones, nose, I even used my finger to apply it to my eyelids. I then took the Disco Queen Powder Highlighter and applied it over the Disco Stick. It gave me the most other worldly glow y'all!!
I really love the outcome of these two products both alone but even more so when used together. Its such a bright fun highlight that really makes you feel like a Disco Queen. It was like Coachella on my face! I probably wouldn't wear these two on a daily basis because they are a more bright fun colorful highlight, I really love that I can now have this epic of highlight thanks to these two products.

These two limited edition products really stepped up their holo game and gave the glow of their lives! Ok, but in all honestly, I think they are great. I think they could have been better and maybe a little smoother. They both ran a little dry in texture but did apply well in general. I loved the overall look and although probably wouldn't recommend them for their price, they really do give you a beautiful glow.
Its a great shade for all skin tones and gives you fun festival like highlight to rock on days that you just need a little extra groove in your game. These babies are both on sale at sephora.com at the moment and you should totally scoop them up!
